Prime Minister Ben-Gurion said in 1948: “That’s it, we’re just like everyone else, we even have Jewish prostitutes!” In 80 years, the Jews of Israel have shown that they have nothing to envy of the massacres carried out by the Belgians, Dutch, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Germans, Australians, Japanese, Yankees, etc. in the countries they colonized, massacring the indigenous populations. They have become a people like any other.
No one can dispute that what is happening in Gaza is genocide, war crimes, massacre; mass killings, starving and thirsting a population to death, more doctors and journalists killed deliberately than during the two world wars, tens of thousands of babies and children massacred, all hospitals destroyed and staff killed, pregnant women shot at point-blank range and children without limbs wandering around in 95% of the destroyed houses. We are living in a crazy world, and we will end up regretting normal religions.
The defense of everything this government is doing in Israel by Western leaders is pitiful and also signals the end of the West as the representative of democratic norms and society. How can Braun-Pivet, Bergé, Arfi, and their ilk sleep at night with the mass graves and the massacre of a people on their conscience, forgetting the teachings of the Bible? “The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything,” as Einstein so often said. In England, the mother of democracies, protesters who criticize an ongoing genocide are imprisoned, and trade with Israel continues, selling it weapons without shame and saying that the famine is not Israel’s fault. In the name of what is it forbidden to walk around with a Palestinian flag, but no problem for any other flag (the Russian flag, for example)? Fortunately, Spain, Brazil, South Africa, and a few others are saving the day. Yet, in 80 years, Hamas has recognized Israel’s right to exist, while Israel has expelled 800,000 Palestinians from their lands, massacred hundreds of villages and their inhabitants, and occupies 120% of the territory of former Palestine with the fourth or fifth largest military power in the world and probably the best intelligence service, but it is they who are in danger from Hamas’ few weapons. As for corruption, almost the entire government, starting with its leader, has a place reserved in prison for active corruption, with nothing to envy of Abbas and his cronies. Israel—the only democracy in the region? Bibi, like his cronies Trump and Orban, is turning it into a dictatorship by eliminating judges and occupying the media—it is forbidden in Israel to show starving children in Gaza on television. censorship has existed since the 1950s and can imprison anyone who reveals anything embarrassing without trial. We must explain to our politicians that we will remember, that there will be no voice for the defenders of Israel, we must boycott everything that comes from there on all levels, and do what the Israelis themselves are asking for, as are many Holocaust survivors, namely recognize the state of Palestine (thank you, Mr. Macron; it’s never too late to do the right thing, and perhaps that is all that will be remembered of your two pitiful terms in office). Let’s support international bodies. Let’s nominate UNRWA, Francesca Albanese, the ICJ, and why not the Spanish Prime Minister, who is saving our honor, for the Nobel Peace Prize.
