To celebrate 2025: Save Wikipedia from Belphegor-Musk!

In Christian demonology, Beelphegor is the demon who seduces his victims by inspiring them with ingenious discoveries and inventions designed to enrich them.  He comes from the Hebrew ( בעל פעור-he possesses “evil”) and operated at the time of the Jews’ exit from Egypt by seducing the Hebrews away from their God through the intermediary of Moabite women (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belphegor)

Elon Musk is a modern-day Belphegor!  He’s got it all figured out: everything “social” and “shared” must be destroyed in favor of the personal/individual. There’s no doubt that, contrary to Marx’s predictions, capitalism is not bound to be destroyed, especially as the domination of real capital by financial capital makes this almost impossible. Musk’s personal fortune is estimated at 400 billion, with a projection of 1000 billion by the end of the Trump administration. And nothing seems able to stop him, perhaps a fight one day between 2 over-inflated egos and a vexation of the sick man in the White House. Tesla is overvalued at $1.5 billion, with just 1,293,656 cars sold in 2024; Toyota sold 11 million; but no matter, the Musk tornado, via the stock market, is taking everything in its path. He can get away with anything; choosing fascist governments all over Europe by opening up his cash, 100Million to AFD (the German neo-Nazi party) and ditto to Nigel Farage (the pope of the British far right) and so on. Fortunately, we – like the Germans – have laws that make such donations difficult, with clearly defined limits. The absence of such limits has led to Trump in the USA, so let’s stop criticizing some of our laws, which are crucial to the future of our democracies. Through X (formerly Twitter), he shamelessly floods the world with fake news, especially democracies.

Among Musk’s campaigns is a desire to close Wikipedia, which has everything to displease him, too wok for his eminence, too everything in fact; managed by all of us, insensitive to external pressures and corruption and perhaps above all, contributes to providing free education, a modern encyclopedia as intended by Diderot and D’Alembert in the 18th century with over 150 contributors who have written 72,000 articles. it’s about time we woke up, let’s donate to wikipedia ! This won’t hurt him financially – it’s out of reach – but it will serve as a signal for a hoped-for awakening of consciences one day.
