The massacres of 7/10 are on everyone’s minds and the people of Hamas are not children at heart; they have blood, rape and massacre on their hands and should be tried in The Hague for war crimes and crimes against humanity. We must always remember that with the support and blessing of this same Netanyahu, Hamas was financed by Qatar for years, doing everything to weaken Palestinian authority and prevent the creation of a Palestinian state. I recommend reading the articles from Haaretz – one of the rare independent Israeli newspapers – to understand how this government must absolutely maintain the war, to colonize as many territories and get rid of as many Palestinians as possible. But in any case, where have we seen that a massacre of this type authorizes a state to punish and massacre an entire population, destroy everything, kill thousands of women and children and babies, starve them, and shoot at everything that move. The soldiers say it openly, if you kill a person, he is by definition a terrorist (sic). The images of these children are unbearable, they bring back memories that we thought we would never see again. More children have died in Gaza in 4 months than in 4 years in all world conflicts…
Perhaps worst of all, this is part of a program that began 8 decades ago, occupying the land from the Jordan River to the sea, and displacing or killing indigenous Arab Palestinians. In 1937, Ben-Gurion’s color was already announced “It is fortunate that the Arabs have vast uninhabited territories. The transfer of population is what will make an intensive colonization program possible” (see book by Jean Pierre Filiu). This project was carried out effectively with hundreds of thousands of refugees, particularly in Gaza (read the books by Filiu, Laurens, etc.). When the overwhelming majority of Israelis support war and massacres – even if they are fed up with Bibi Netanyahu, corrupt leader who only holds because there is war, without it he would be in prison. It must last until the “final victory” – the annihilation of all possibility of peace and 2 states! You must look at what the Israelis don’t see – on their TVs which only shows clean war and destroyed buildings, not amputated babies and trembling children like in this unbearable video!
Bibi, like any dictator, has suppressed any image that could arouse empathy, more journalists have been killed in Gaza than in all the wars currently raging. You must see the dark humor of this Palestinian-American journalist/youtuber to better understand the Israeli approach. Stop, this must stop. Even Trump says it, the loss of American support is perhaps the only good news in this succession of massacres…. The other being that as in Bosnia – I saw children there recovering after atrocious scenes – here too we see children slaloming on a roof slope destroyed by the bombs. There is always hope, it is ultimately the only thing that allows us to fight against fear and despair. “One day will come, orange color, a day of calm, foliage on the front” as Aragon and Ferrat would say (one day will come). Despite Netanyahu and even despite the Israeli people, we will have to accept the Palestinian neighbor and repair this colonization which inevitably like all colonization’s – we have great experience of it in Europe – is accompanied by crimes. Please don’t accuse me of not seeing the suffering on the Israeli side resulting from 7/10 but this unscaled and total response made solely to keep a fanatical government in power will result in an all-out war for generations to come. It will inevitably also result in the definitive fall of what remains of democracy in this country which will become a military theocracy. I highly recommend reading the texts of Dominique Eddé – a Lebanese novelist – who understood everything and summarized this conflict and its fallout vividly.
