It seems to me that the honor of the Peace Prize would be enhanced if it respected basic morality. It should be awarded to
Francesca Albanese for saving the honor of international institutions and revealing the extent of the genocide and the collaboration of Western companies and states that are sinking and will pay for having refused and endorsed the genocide and war of annihilation of a people
UNRWA, for having enabled Gaza to be a country for 80 years despite the conditions, by feeding a people, creating and maintaining hundreds of schools where girls and boys can learn (with one of the highest literacy rates in the world), universities, hospitals, and everything else that enables a people to live. Watch the film “Yalla Gaza,” shot a few years ago, to understand, or read the books by Amira Hass (daughter of an Auschwitz survivor) who spent months in Gaza as an Israeli journalist.
Pedro Sanchez, Prime Minister of Spain, for saving the honor of Europeans by recognizing the ongoing genocide and breaking off all relations with the genocidal country. He had the courage to do what our leaders—Macron, Stramer, Merz, etc.—did not have, covering our countries in shame and burying any pretense of moral authority. they will be remembered for this in history.
Of course, if there were any surviving Palestinian journalists in Gaza, they would be more than worthy candidates, but the Oslo rules prohibit awarding the prize to dead people. Yet they sacrificed their lives, deliberately targeted and massacred by Israel in order to prevent any traces of their genocide. But the truth always comes out in the end, and their sacrifice will not be in vain. One day, the Israelis will discover what the chief perpetrators of genocide—Netanyahu, Smotrich, and Ben-Gvir—have done in their name. Israel has become a pariah state capable of attacking anyone and anywhere its opponents are (see the bombing of a flotilla ship in Tunis and a meeting of HAMAS leaders in Qatar who were discussing the terms of a ceasefire agreement), and this is what bothers these perpetrators of genocide. They want to implement the final solution for Palestine, destroying any possibility of Palestinian life and turning it into a resort under the aegis of Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law. I challenge Israel’s defenders to justify the deportation of what remains of the 2 million people who lived there and the transformation of Gaza into a resort for settlers and wealthy Westerners. The mantra-like argument of “Hamas, Hamas, October 7” is flimsy and does not stand up to factual scrutiny. Any state that simultaneously attacks Qatar, Tunisia, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon (and Cyprus last year), not to mention the occupied territories, would have been stopped, but Israel… We will have to talk about Pax Americana/Israeliana to dominate the world.
